1989 US Army Corps of Engineers Beatties Dam Study
In 1989 the US Army Corps of Engineers conducted a study in the Passaic River basin. "The purpose of this study was to determine if there was a Federal interest in participating with a local sponsor in a flood control project along the Passaic River in the vicinity of Beatties Dam" (1989 Army Corp Study). This article documents that modification of the dam along with the addition of flood gates could potentially minimize flooding.
