Flood Action Plan
Please Note: Lives First, Property Second
Be Prepared for severe weather, have a storm preparedness kit: Flashlight, Radio and extra batteries, First Aid Kit, one week's prescription medications, personal toiletries, infant care items, 3 gallons of water per person, non perishable canned and ready to eat food, can openers and utensils, cash or travelers checks, store important documents in waterproof safe location.
1. Early Warning: Fire Trucks, CERT VOLUNTEERS and reverse 9-1-1 will notify our residents of a pending evacuation. Monitor the FLOOD HOTLINE 973-256-6538, our town website (www.lfnj.com), television and the radio for emergency information.
Action: TURN OFF ALL UTILITIES BEFORE LEAVING YOUR HOME. REMOVE ALL VEHICLES TO DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS.
2. Communication: FLOOD HOTLINE - 973-256-6538 - the hotline will operate 24 hours a day during a crisis to provide information about resident relocation, updated flood status, and inform you of critical situations.
